ClariVein Procedure New York - What is better, VNUS Closure, EVLT Never Touch or ClariVein ? Vein Treatment Center
Friday, July 12, 2013

The Clarivein procedure uses a 'keyhole access' to treat varicose veins. The Clarivein procedure uses this 'keyhole ccess' to obliterate the internal lining of the main feeding varicose vein  with a rotating wire. The wire ablation technology is used in conjunction with chemical sclerosant which is FDA approved. Together, mechanical and chemical abliteration is an alternative to the use of heat energy (Venefit Procedure, aka VNUS Closure) or laser ablation (EVLT, EVLA, ElVeS). The treatment hs been shown to cause the treated varicose veins to shrivel up, achieving success through a single key hole or pin hole.

Published studies show several advantages of the Clarivein procedure over the Venefit Procedure (previously called VNUS Closure):

  1. quicker procedure
  2. no tumescent or deep anesthesia needed
  3. no heating of the varicose vein (unlike Venefit procedure)
  4. no procedure related pain during the procedure

Clarivein treatment for varicose veins is a the latest treatment for varicose veins and long term data is not published as of this writing. However, short term data (1.5 year follow-up) is excellent for the treatment of varicose veins.  A Board Certified Phlebologist will help you choose the right treatment - Venefit procedure versus EVLT versus ClariVein versus sclerotherapy, among others.
